Re: THIS PROJECT
THE COMPOSER'S NOTES
This is a delightfully strange game in which you bunny-hop your way across a post-apocalyptic wasteland, searching for keys and zapping cultists to death with projectile hand magicks. Also you occasionally get to give them the finger(s).
Oh, and as a point of pride I have to say: the secondary title, "Burn Those Cultists Dead", was all me.
I was pretty pumped to sign on for this project, as it was an opportunity to work with a few people I'd been hoping to work with for quite some time, but our project scheduled just hadn't quite lined up till this. Once we got going it just worked. The humor and tone clicked into place and we all had an effortless time bouncing bizarre ideas off one another. It's pretty rare that the universe grants you the opportunity to record vomit-y gun sounds. When such a chance rears its head—my God, take it!
This project was a joy to work on. Sound Design and Music were handled by myself and one other Composer, Tim Gargiulo. Working with Tim was great: we both knew our strengths and propensities, making it a cinch to pick assets and play of each other.
I wrote and recorded the battle music track. It was my first time working with the Symphonic Choir Word Builder, and I'm very impressed with the software. The lyrics are a bit hard to make out because of the epic nature of the track, but just know there's a lot of fire and killing in there. I think you can feel it.
Can't wait to work with these brilliant nut cases again!
